Ok, what sets us apart from other driver ed companies?
Our ownership - This company has been around since 1981, first owned by a pair of teachers, John & Blake, who started classes in their homes. In 2012, they retired, turning the business over to Don Smith (who had worked for them about 8 years) and his son Sean, who now own the business and are 2 of the 5 teachers currently on board. This is a family owned and operated business, with Don's wife taking care of the office, his other son Ryan taking care of maintenance duties, and his granddaughters adding the smiles. We are not a cookie cutter business, with branches all over the state. You get us, not a faceless corporation, when you call. The office is in our home, and you'll hear dogs barking, birds screeching, the Tigers on TV, and children demanding when you call. We are a family, just like you.
Our reputation - we've been here right along, over 32 years; we taught your older children, we may have taught YOU and your siblings. Ask the kids where the fun teachers are! Driver ed does not need to be nothing but boring book work. Our teachers are creative, outgoing, and fun to be around. Got your driving block on a weekend with your partner? You could end up in Frankenmuth, Bay City, or some other interesting location, taking your break in Zehnders Bakery, or the Nut House Candy Store.
Our experienced teachers - yes, they are all certified to teach driver ed, but did you know that most of them are also certified as classroom teachers, and have taught or are still teaching in high school classrooms? All of them have college degrees, and all of them have a genuine interest in helping your child. And did you know that for your safety and peace of mind, ALL instructors working for a driver ed company must pass a fingerprint test by the state in order to be a driver ed teacher? Only top quality people are ever with your child.
Our program - did you know not all driver ed companies use a cones "skills" course to teach your child the small manuevering skills necessary to pass the road test? We do. Your child will master those skills, and be better prepared for parking, movement in small areas, and ready to pass the road test. Before you ever get out of the parking lot for the road test, the third party tester puts the new driver through a rigorous cones course. If the driver doesn't make it correctly through these maneuvers, he doesn't even get a chance to show his skill on the road. Our teachers not only all have the cones to set up this course, we have set courses in place at several of our locations. Third party testers tell us that our students have the highest pass rates of all the driver ed companies, simply because they are better prepared to drive.
Our personal attention - we know your time is valuable, and your money is too. We lowered our prices to try to help our families in this rough economy, even as gas prices rise. We may have to put them back up there if gas prices continue to rise, but we're trying to help. If you have more than one child attending a segment 1 class at the same time, we'll cut you a break, and give you a discount, so they are only paying $250 each. Things are hard enough when you have more than one at driving age! And we listen to you - when people told us that they didn't want their children taking driver's ed during exams week, we created a new split schedule that allowed for no classes during exam week. We'll work with you, if you'd like to work with us.
So who do you want teaching your child? We look forward to your call!
